Hey there, I'm a fan of your blog, and I'm also interested in working as a nail tech. What classes are necessary? I'd be surely grateful if you could help me out!

Why, thank you! The first thing you need to do is look at the requirements for your state/province that you live. For example, in Washington State, you are required to go to a school that teaches a certified nail tech class for 600 hours. After you complete your schooling, you take a State board test that will certify you for your nail tech license. Education doesn’t stop there, though. It is very important to attend nail events, beauty shows and attended company education classes. School prepares you more for passing your state boards (sanitation, cleanliness, working safely) than actual technique. If you are lucky, you may be able to find a school that will head you in the right direction. Unfortunately, that is not how it often is. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication to get somewhere in the beauty industry (as I’m discovering, it is a lot more difficult than originally thought) but with passion and drive, anyone can do it. Take a look at nailsmag.com and nailpro.com for more info. I also suggest checking out CND.com and see if you can find an Educator that can help you out. CND has been nothing but good to me and they are my go to guys. Their educators are awesome and want us all to succeed.
